Joy of Soy

Seems every one these days are knitting shawls and socks.
We hope you will be inspired by this blog to do the same!
This shawl was a joy to knit.

I used Joy of Soy by The Dye Guy to make this lovely shawl.
Even though we have lots of really nice shawl patterns at the shop
I feel in  love with this pattern called Maluka on Ravelry.
The pattern is interesting to knit.
You first knit the border, then pick up stitches along the border
and continue making the main body of the shawl using short rows.
This is a free pattern on Ravelry - bring it in and we will help you pick out the yarn for it!
The Dye Guy is a Ontario dyer and we are the only shop (in the world!) to carry his super yarns.
When you are in be sure to check out his other yarns.
Three n"ewe"sock books - what could  be better!
Lots of inspiration, loads of patterns and lots of technique information in these books.
Love their names!
Socks from the Toe Up - Essential Techniques and patterns from Wendy Knits
Socks a la carte Toes up - Pick and choose patterns to knit socks your way
Socktopus - 17 pairs of socks to knit and show off

Just a reminder
We will be at the Knitters Frolic in Toronto next weekend so we will be
closing at 4:00 next Friday - April 27th and closed all day next Saturday April 28th.
Our booth location has just been changed - you will find us on the first floor - not upstairs.
Once you enter the centre - go right past the elevator / stairs and you will see us ahead of you.
Watch for the bright pink booth!!
