You can never have too many scarves!

I am sure that you will agree that you and your friends can never have too many scarves.
They are such a quick and rewarding project, especially when you use unique yarns.

Here are some more pictures of the Triana Lux scarves.
They really do not show up the "lux" in the pictures but in the shop they look quite stunning.
They have a new colours range which is different than the Triana.
Thanks to Edythe for knitting them all.

There are so many wonderful yarns and super patterns for you to chose from, including the 2 designs below.

The Jordan Scarf
This stunning blue scarf is made using 1 ball of The Dye Guy Socky-Talky.
Socky-Talky is a wonderful feeling superwash merino/nylon blend.
Don't let the name of this yarn fool you - you can make "anything" with it including this lovely scarf.

Every one loves NORO!
This wavy and lacy scarf was knit using NORO King.
King is a lovely soft lace weight yarn and is silk/wool/ mohair blend.
The scarf only took 1 ball and it grew 10" in length when blocked which is a bonus!
Thanks again to Edythe for knitting this lovely scarf.
The pattern is free with the purchase of King.
If you used 2 or more balls, you could make a stunning shawl.
I can guarantee that your scarf will look much nicer being worn than it does on my living room rug!

Closed on Mondays

What is in the bags?

I know spring has not even really arrived but I spent many hours
wandering around a large yarn warehouse checking out lots and lots of
 Fall/Winter yarns.
I guess you could call the warehouse a "Knitters' Heaven".
There was shelf after shelf of yarns, yarns and more yarns.
I brought these full bags of yarn home with me.
There will be lots more coming before the Fall.

Can you guess what is inside?
Here is a peak inside!

On the self in the "chunky" room
It took a while to sort the yarn and get it on the shelves.
There is fun aassortment for you knitting pleasure.
These yarns are in the "chunky" room for obvious reasons!
I will highlight these yarns later but I will tell you this - you can start your gift-giving knitting with them.
The yarns are called - Linie 321, Vertigo, Madras and Fiocco.
Be sure to come in to see what these yarns are like - they look great and feel even better.
I will send "close up" pictures later.

Great news - Triana Lux

You all love Triana - now it has a bit of "glitz"and is called Triana Lux.
There are also super n"ewe" colours.
I will show you more colours next time.

Fashion "words" in the world of knitting for Fall/Winter are
 glitz - a lot or a little
halo - such as mohair - gives a "fluffy" look.
texture - thick, thin, bumpy, boucle, etc
colour - every colour imaginable

All for now - keep knitting and crocheting.

Spring/summer in the shop!

At last some lovely weather. Check out the pictures below for some ideas for light weight knitting.

Hanging on the wall is the Swallowtail Shawl knit with Malabrigo Sock.
The lacy scarf in knit with the Dye Guy Bamboogie.
The shawl is knit with Diamond Luxury Collection Pure Silk Lace.

The cute mauve sweater is knit with Wendy Jeanie.
The blue lacy scarf on the spinning wheel is knit with Dye Version Bamboo Fingering.
The summer cardigan is knit with Sirdar Summer Stripes.

Some of these you may have already seen but we now have some new colours in these yarns. As you can see, Linda and I have been very busy knitting!

Remember - Sat. June 11th is our special Knit in Public Day here at the shop.

Knitters' Frolic and N"ewe"

We had a great day at the Frolic in Toronto.
It was a lot of work - deciding what to take, having enough stock, loading Linda's van, setting up, "working" all day, taking down, loading Linda's van again and getting the shop back in order - but it was worth it!
We got to talk to so many enthusiastic knitters and crocheters.
Thanks to those of you who dropped by to say Hi.

Part of our very full display
Our booth stood our in the crowd because it was so colourful.

We are waiting for the show to open.
We were still smiling at the end of the day even though we had tired feet!

N'ewe" yarns from The Dye Guy

Just Kidding Around
This hand dyed yarn is a wonderful blend of 70% mohair and 30% nylon in a lace weight.
It is lovely and soft and would make a beautiful shawl or whatever.

Lace Time
This yarn is the softest 100% Superwash Merino Wool ever!
The unique hand dyed colours plus the fact that it is a "local" yarn - makes it a winner.

Hope to see you soon.
