Get organized!

Yeah! Summer is here according to the calender.
Whether you are knitting or crocheting on vacation or in your backyard - you need to be organized.
Being organized saves you time, keeps your projects clean and neat and makes you look professional!

Here is a selection of items to help you get organized.
Lantern Moon basket - made in Vietnam - a fair trade company
Our shop bag - light weight and folds up easily to fit in your purse
Bagsmith Project bag - holds lots, stays open when using , handy shoulder strap
Wacky Woollie tote bag - black and white sheep
House Mouse knitting tote
Wacky Woollie tote bag - coloured sheep and cute sayings on it
Wacky Woollie Sheep shoulder bag - great for small projects
Toto Pouch - colourful and useful - different sizes
Knit Happy note pad with pen and sticky notes

Needle sets and needle organizers
I am sure that many of you have gone away and left the size needle you needed at home.
I will admit that I have.
The Addi Click sets - regular, bamboo or lace sets will solve that frustrating problem.

Needle organizers - are just what their name says! There are rolled up or flat ones for straight needles. There is also a flat organizer for circular needles.

Happy Knitting and crocheting!

Knit in Public Day and N"ewe" books!

Looking at the pictures taken on Saturday, you can see we had fun knitting and crocheting together, playing silly knitting games and eating!
Unfortunately the weather did not co-operate and our numbers were down - quality not quantity. Hopefully more participants next year!
We did raise over $120.00 to donate between the local food bank and Friends of the Halton Hills library.
Everyone went home with a prize or two and fond memories of Knit in Public 2011.

These n"ewe" knitting books just arrived.
Lots of great patterns for the whole family.
You will just have to come in to see the patterns hiding between the covers and of course, become inspired!

Keep Knitting .....

Hi,
Linda and I had fun again on Monday when we visited another suppliers Open House and warehouse.
Lots of yarn to examine and samples to look at.
Of course, I just had to order n"ewe" yarns for the shop.
Then Tuesday afternoon a sales rep. from another company came by with suitcases full of yarn.
And again, I just had to order some more n"ewe" yarns.
I am only thinking of all of you - you all love n"ewe" yarns!

I know it is really hot but you just have to keep knitting and crocheting!
I am sure that most of you have air conditioners or fans in your homes
- so be sure to keep those needles and hooks busy!

Read on and you will find out about some n"ewe" yarns I mentioned previously that would make great portable knitting/crocheting summer projects.

Madras and Fiocono
Madras by Laine Du Nord is a "boucle like" chunky yarn with a satiny thread through it.
Fiocco is kind of hard to describe. It has great texture with "things" sticking out from it that add "definition" to its unique look.

Linie 231
Linie  231 by ON line is an unspun chunky wool which creates its own pattern as you knit.

Vertigo
Vertigo has a bit of "fluff" and a bit of "glitz". It also shades attractively as you knit.
Hope to see you this Saturday for Knit in Public Day at the shop - 11:00 - 3:00.
Come for the day or drop by for a visit.
You don't want to miss all the fun!
