Knitters' Frolic and N"ewe"

We had a great day at the Frolic in Toronto.
It was a lot of work - deciding what to take, having enough stock, loading Linda's van, setting up, "working" all day, taking down, loading Linda's van again and getting the shop back in order - but it was worth it!
We got to talk to so many enthusiastic knitters and crocheters.
Thanks to those of you who dropped by to say Hi.

Part of our very full display
Our booth stood our in the crowd because it was so colourful.

We are waiting for the show to open.
We were still smiling at the end of the day even though we had tired feet!

N'ewe" yarns from The Dye Guy

Just Kidding Around
This hand dyed yarn is a wonderful blend of 70% mohair and 30% nylon in a lace weight.
It is lovely and soft and would make a beautiful shawl or whatever.

Lace Time
This yarn is the softest 100% Superwash Merino Wool ever!
The unique hand dyed colours plus the fact that it is a "local" yarn - makes it a winner.

Hope to see you soon.

Silk Garden Lite and Happy Easter

As promised, here are some pictures of my
Silk Garden Lite Shawl.

Before Blocking

During blocking using blocking wires on a blocking board
The beautiful results!

I know that many of you are not familiar with blocking but it so important to do
- especially with lace knitting - anything with holes.

Here is another cute project that we just finished

Jeanie Aran
Jeanie Aran by Peter Pan (knits up like a KW) is really nice to knit with. It comes in shaded colours and solid colours. There are cute patterns for kids using this yarn.

The Dye Guy have arrived!

You first heard about these new yarns in our April newsletter - now you can see what they look like. They are dyed here in Ontario -
which is a bonus as far as we are concerned and I know a lot of you will feel the same way.

Socky Talky

Socky Talky is a wonderful superwash merino nylon blend with fun names such as Blueberry Crumble, Bubblegum Blues, Roasted Red Peppers, Golf Course, Bachelor Button, Coal and Ash.
Can you match the names to the picture?
A new colourway is arriving soon called Loaded Hot Dog - can you guess what colour it is?
Linda is knitting a pair of socks with Socky Talky and loving the way it feels and how the stitch definition is showing.

Bamboogie

Bamboogie is a wonderful bamboo/merino blend that has a "pearl like" finish to it.
I guess that is why they are have the word "pearl" in their name.
Amethyst Pearl, Atlantic Pearl, Ginger Pearl, Lilac Pearl, Seaweed Pearl, Sky Pearl
and Salmon Pearl.
This yarn would make a beautiful Spring/Summer scarf or shawl.
I am knitting a lacy scarf with the Bamboogie and loving the yarn also.

Silk Garden Lite

Every one loves NORO and Silk Garden Lite has just arrived.

I couldn't wait to work with the Silk Garden Lite which is a wool/silk blend. in a DK weight.
I started a shawl right away and it is so much  fun to knit and see the colour changes.
It is a very easy pattern and the end result will be stunning I am sure.
I will post a picture of it when it is finished.

Remember to knit every day - it is good for you.

Shop "Samples" Sale

First Ever
Shop
“Samples” Sale!

This is not an April Fool's Joke

We are having our first ever Shop “Samples” Sale during the month of April.

We have sorted through our hand knit shop “samples

and are offering them to you at excellent prices!
This is a super chance to have a lovely hand knit item that you do not have to knit
- but was knit by us with love!

This picture shows baby and children's sweaters but there are also hat, scarves and adult sweaters.

Here is a new kit in that I am excited to share with you.

Gauntlet Kit

Everyone love gauntlets, fingerless gloves or what ever you wish to call them.
Our Gauntlet Kit contains one ball of Zephyr DK
 - a lovely silk/merino blend and of course the pattern.
The cuff is worked in entralac - an interesting, easy and intriguing technique.
The joy of these and other similar patterns is that they are quick to make.
Also great to wear for so many reasons - texting, driving or to make a fashion statement.
A few of our customers are wearing them while they knit - keeps their hands warm and prevents cramping and tiredness in their fingers - what a great idea!

Hope to see you soon.
