Joy of Soy

Seems every one these days are knitting shawls and socks.
We hope you will be inspired by this blog to do the same!
This shawl was a joy to knit.

I used Joy of Soy by The Dye Guy to make this lovely shawl.
Even though we have lots of really nice shawl patterns at the shop
I feel in  love with this pattern called Maluka on Ravelry.
The pattern is interesting to knit.
You first knit the border, then pick up stitches along the border
and continue making the main body of the shawl using short rows.
This is a free pattern on Ravelry - bring it in and we will help you pick out the yarn for it!
The Dye Guy is a Ontario dyer and we are the only shop (in the world!) to carry his super yarns.
When you are in be sure to check out his other yarns.
Three n"ewe"sock books - what could  be better!
Lots of inspiration, loads of patterns and lots of technique information in these books.
Love their names!
Socks from the Toe Up - Essential Techniques and patterns from Wendy Knits
Socks a la carte Toes up - Pick and choose patterns to knit socks your way
Socktopus - 17 pairs of socks to knit and show off

Just a reminder

Pretty Colours + Books

I hope that the Easter bunny visited "ewe" and brought "ewe" some treats.
I had a nice weekend, got some treats and even had time to do some knitting.
I was careful not to get any chocolate on my yarn!

Plymouth Encore Colourspun
Everyone loves to knit or crochet for babies or toddlers. Lots of our customers are having babies arriving in their immediate families or co-workers or friends having babies in the near future.
How about "ewe"!

Plymouth has just come released 4 delightful colours for "baby/toddler" knitting in their
 Encore Colourspun yarn.
As "ewe" knit - the yarn forms a pretty self pattern that looks great.
The knitting looks like "ewe" did a lot more work than"ewe" really did.
The yarn does the "work" for "ewe" -"ewe" get the compliments!

 Sounds good to me.
The colours are all based with white and there is a pink blend, a yellow blend,
a blue blend and an aqua blend.
The colours are so much nicer in real life -  nicer than in this picture.
We also have a great selection of knitting and crocheting books for baby/toddlers.
Think blankets and sweaters or whatever "ewe" would love to create.

These great books just arrived.

Knitted Baby Booties are quick knit, easy projects.
There are a lot of fun designs in this book with fun names such as Fairy Slippers, Moon Boots, Pompom booties and Candy Pink Toes.

Essential Baby has over 20 patterns such as the Hooded Carrying Bag, Pinafore Dress and Duffel Coat.

Baby Knits for Beginners says it all.
"Ewe" will learn n"ewe" techniques as you create each project.

These patterns use a variety of various yarns.
We will enjoy helping you find exactly what "ewe" need.

Remember our special hours
Friday April 27th - closing at 4:00
Saturday April 28th - closed all day
We are having a booth at the Knitters Frolic in Toronto.

Happy Easter to "Ewe"

Happy Easter to "Ewe"

Here is a picture of the Lamb Lollies I mentioned last week.
Super yummy lamb shaped chocolate lollipops.
All knitters love lambs/sheep for so many reasons- the main one being their wonderful fibres.
Also - what can be better than yarn and chocolate?!
The yummy lambs are being made exclusively for us by Shelley's Chocolates - a local business.
A yummy treat for you or your knitting and crocheting friends any time!
Knitter's Mugs

Sitting and knitting/crocheting and drinking a cup of coffee is what many knitters love to do.
We now have
Knitter's Mugs by our favourite potter - Carolyn - from the Glen Mill.
This is her most popular mug design. To make it special for she added "knitting" words to them.
Carolyn is not a knitter - so she thought some of our abbreviations where rather strange!
Yarn Bowls

N"ewe" and improved - isn't that what all the ads on TV say.
We  now have a selection of
larger yarn bowls in soothing colours.
Some have fluted edges and others have interesting details inside.
I am amazed at how many yarn bowls we have sold over the past couple of years.
Once you have one - you will wonder how you managed with it!

If you have not used one - now is the time - our selection is excellent.

Enjoy your long weekend and be sure to find time to knit or crochet.
